Great Bend Boom Holds Off Salina Stockade 6-5

February 9 2019 The Great Bend Boom defeated the Salina Stockade 6-5 after scoring four runs over the final two innings. Great Bend finished with 10 hits and five errors, while Salina collected eight hits and committed four errors.

Great Bend scored once in the first inning and added a run in the fifth before breaking a 2-2 tie with two runs in the eighth and two more in the ninth. Salina scored once in the fifth, twice in the sixth, and once in each of the final two innings, but could not complete the comeback.

Thomas Nelson earned the win for Great Bend, Charlie Fletcher took the loss, and Chuck Rocker recorded the save. Tani T had two hits, one run and one RBI, while M Ramsey also collected two hits and one RBI. K Guzman drove in two runs, and S Stetson added a two-RBI hit as a pinch hitter. For Salina, O Artsen went 2-for-4 with two runs, D Clark had two hits and one RBI, and P Pena contributed two RBI.
