June 2 2016 The Salina Stockade defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 13-6 at Fort Marcy Park. Salina finished with 19 hits and two errors while Santa Fe collected nine hits and played errorless defense.

Salina took control with six runs in the first inning and added two in the second. The Stockade scored three more in the fourth and two in the fifth to build a 13-0 lead. Santa Fe answered with four runs in the fifth and two in the seventh but could not close the gap.

CJ Epperson led Salina with four hits in six at-bats and scored twice. Mike Rachun went 3-for-6 with two runs while Jean Carlos Peralta and Nick Wagner each homered. Wagner drove in four runs and Steven Longo and Ray Hernandez each added two RBIs. For Santa Fe Chris Tavares went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs while Sam Taft had two hits and two doubles.

Tim Blackmon earned the win for Salina after allowing five hits and four runs in six innings with 10 strikeouts and four walks. Dalton Bernardi worked two scoreless innings with two strikeouts. Thomas Zarewicz took the loss for Santa Fe after surrendering eight runs on eight hits in one inning.

May 30 2016 The Alpine Cowboys scored four runs in the fourth inning to rally past the Salina Stockade 4-3 at Kokernot Field. Salina opened the game with three runs in the first inning, but Alpine held the Stockade scoreless over the remainder of the game while mounting its comeback.

Mike Rachun provided Salina’s key offensive production with a home run and two RBI. Morgan Blatnik, Nick Wagner, CJ Epperson, Ray Hernandez and Steven Longo each collected a hit for the Stockade, which finished with six hits overall.

Alpine’s four-run fourth included RBI from Nate Ferrell, Seth McLemore and A. Miller. Reagan Rutledge went 1-for-2 with a walk and scored once, while McLemore and Miller each added a hit and an RBI. Joey Webb earned the win for Alpine after allowing six hits and three earned runs in five innings, with one walk and one strikeout. Salina starter Fransisco Leon took the loss, surrendering four runs three earned on four hits in 4.1 innings with one walk and two strikeouts.

May 29 2016 The Salina Stockade scored five times in the seventh inning to pull away for a 7-4 victory over the White Sands Pupfish. Salina finished with eight hits and overcame an early 4-1 deficit after White Sands scored three runs in the third inning. The Stockade also scored once in the first and fifth innings before taking control in the seventh.

Morgan Blatnik, Nick Williams and Mike Rachun each collected two hits for Salina. Blatnik drove in a run, while Ray Hernandez and Steven Longo also contributed one RBI apiece. Rachun doubled twice, and Blatnik added a triple. White Sands received two hits and two RBIs from TJ Wharton, while Eric Kalbfliesh had a double and an RBI.

Skylar Janisse earned the win with a complete-game performance for Salina, allowing 10 hits and four earned runs while walking three and striking out eight in nine innings. White Sands starter N. Bozman worked six innings and surrendered four hits and two runs, with six strikeouts and two walks. The White Sands Pupfish outlast the Salina Stockade in high-scoring affair 10-9

Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Saturday as the White Sands Pupfish (5-6) outscored the Salina Stockade (3-7) 10-9.

The two teams combined for 26 hits in the game.

TJ Wharton got a hit in each of his four at bats. He singled in the fourth and fifth innings, doubled in the seventh inning, and tripled in the eighth inning.

Nathan Williams reached base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the fifth and eighth innings.

Dametrus Ingram got the win, running his season record to 1-2. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered four hits.

Gilbert Barrera was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked four and struck out three.

The Salina Stockade (3-6) jumped out to an early lead on the White Sands Pupfish (4-6) and captured an 11-5 victory on Friday at Griggs Park.

Eight runs in the first three innings allowed the Salina Stockade to put the game away early. A two-run double by CJ Epperson and a two-run single by Mike Rachun in the first inning supplied the early offense for the Salina Stockade.

Rachun racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Salina Stockade.

Despite the loss, the White Sands Pupfishs Thompson dominated the Salina Stockades batters, giving up zero runs and striking out 11.

Kevin Delzell got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed two runs over seven innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered 11 hits.

Cameron Powers (0-2) took the loss for the White Sands Pupfish. He allowed eight runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out two.

The White Sands Pupfish (4-5)s four first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home a 10-5 win over the Salina Stockade (2-6) on Thursday at Griggs Park.

The White Sands Pupfish scored in the first on a wild pitch, a sacrifice fly by Joe Borowski, and a two-run single by Macyn Clifford.

TJ Wharton had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the first inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and tripled in the eighth inning.

Billy Waltrip picked up the win for the White Sands Pupfish. Waltrip pitched 7 2/3 innings and allowed three earned runs, seven hits and two walks while striking out 12.

Keifer McClendon couldnt get it done on the mound for the Salina Stockade, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in six innings, walked none and struck out 10.

Eric Cordero, Clifford, Eric Kalbfliesh and Wharton helped lead the White Sands Pupfish. They combined for 10 hits and four RBIs.

Skyler Janisse struck out seven hitters en route to the the Salina Stockade win. Janisse allowed two earned runs on four hits and four walks over six innings.

Johan Puello was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Salina Stockade batters and allowing two runs.

May 23 2016 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the Salina Stockade 12-2 at Kokernot Field behind a 16-hit attack and a complete-game effort from Kevin Klaess. Salina finished with four hits and committed four errors, while Alpine played errorless baseball.

Alpine broke through with three runs in the third inning, added two in the fifth and one in the sixth before putting the game out of reach with four runs in the seventh and two in the eighth. Salina scored both of its runs in the seventh inning. The Cowboys also benefited from home runs by Eric Ferguson and Salina’s Ray Hernandez.

Ferguson went 2-for-4 with a home run two runs and three RBI. Yuta Okazaki collected three hits including a double and drove in two runs, while Ariel Adut went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Clayton Truex added two hits including a double and three RBI, and Tim Henry contributed two hits with a triple and two runs scored.

Klaess earned the victory by allowing four hits and two runs, two earned, while striking out five and walking four over nine innings. Alan Madsen took the loss for Salina after surrendering 10 hits and seven runs six earned in six innings. D. Speranza allowed four runs in one inning before Derek Meyer finished with a scoreless ninth.

The Great Bend Boom (3-1)s five first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home a 10-5 win over the Salina Stockade (1-3) on Sunday at Dean Evans Stadium.

The Great Bend Boom scored in the first on an RBI single by Darryl Baca, an RBI single by Logan Trowbridge, an RBI single by Reece Bell, an error, and an RBI single by DJ Sharabi.

The Great Bend Boom were led by a flawless day at the dish by Baca, who went 3-3 against the Salina Stockades pitching.

Morgan Blatnik reached base five times in the game for the Salina Stockade. He singled in the seventh inning.

Sharabi got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed three runs over six innings. Sharabi struck out eight, walked five and gave up four hits.

Gilbert Barrera ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked six and struck out three.

Ray Hernandez was solid at the plate for the Salina Stockade. Hernandez went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fourth and seventh innings.

Logan Trowbridge had two extra-base hits for the Great Bend Boom. He doubled in the first and third innings and singled in the sixth inning.

Barnett held the Salina Stockade scoreless during his nine innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on six hits while striking out eight.

Darryl Baca blasted two home runs for the Great Bend Boom. Baca went 2-3 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Baca homered in the first and third innings.

The Great Bend Boom blew out the Salina Stockade thanks to 10 hits, including zero extra base hits. A two-run home run by Baca helped the Great Bend Boom score two runs in the third. The Great Bend Boom had one hit in the inning.

The Salina Stockade have their first field manager Justin Thompson. Justin is from Lampasas, Texas. Justin Thompson served as an assistant coach for the Las vegas Train Robbers in the 2015 season in Spring Training. Justin has been an assistant coach with the Houston Apollos in the Pecos Spring League.

He was a draft and follow in 2006 out of Lamapasas, Tx by the Reds. Justin signed to pitch in College with ULM Warhawks in Monroe, Louisiana. Justin works full time as an history/economics teacher in Colmesneil, Tx. He made previous stops in LaMarque, Tx.
