June 28 2018 The New Jersey Jackals defeated the Salina Stockade 6-2, scoring four runs in the second inning before adding single runs in the third and fourth. Salina was held scoreless through eight innings and scored twice in the ninth, but New Jersey finished with a 6-2 victory and a 10-6 advantage in hits.

J. Ruettiger led the Jackals with three hits and two runs. D. Harris went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while J. Hinshaw added two RBI and a double. R. Cabrera had two hits and one RBI, and D. New Jersey built an early 4-0 lead with one run in the first inning, two in the second and one in the third before Salina scored three times in the fourth. The Jackals answered with two runs in the bottom half and added at least one run in each of the next four innings to pull away. D. Harris led New Jersey with four hits, two runs and a double. J. Hinshaw went 3-for-5 with two RBI, while C. Triunfel homered and drove in two runs. A. Mocahbee and R. Cabrera also hit home runs for the Jackals, who received additional homers from Hinshaw and produced seven RBI overall. Salina’s T. Mention had two hits and four RBI, including a home run, while B. Webb also homered and drove in a run. The Stockade totaled five hits and scored once in the fifth, eighth and ninth innings after their three-run fourth. Rockland collected 10 hits and overcame Salina’s nine-hit attack, with the winning run coming in a two-run ninth inning after Salina had taken an 8-7 lead in the top half. Salina built its advantage with four runs in the third inning and three more in the ninth. T. Mention went 2-for-5 with four RBI and two home runs, while J. Delgado and S. Garnett each added two hits. Salina also received two hits from S. Stetson and finished without a fielding error. June 23 2018 The Rockland Boulders defeated the Salina Stockade 3-2 in a tightly contested game at Palisades Credit Union Park. Rockland scored once in the first inning and again in the fourth before Salina answered with a run in the sixth. Salina tied the game with another run in the top of the ninth, but Rockland scored in the bottom half to secure the victory.

Salina collected five hits, led by W. Salas, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles. J. Delgado added a hit and drove in Salina’s first run. Rockland had three hits, with C. Bierfeldt going 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. C. Gregor and M. Montville also recorded RBIs for the Boulders.

Rockland starter D. Palladino struck out 10 while allowing two hits and no runs over five innings. T. Lawrence followed with two scoreless innings and three strikeouts. K. Hansen earned the win after pitching the ninth inning, allowing one run on one hit with two strikeouts.

Salina starter T. Fazzini worked six innings, giving up three hits and two runs, one earned, while striking out five. Salina’s bullpen held Rockland scoreless in the seventh and eighth, but Rockland’s ninth-inning run ended the game and handed Justin Kortessis the loss.

June 22 2018 The Rockland Boulders defeated the Salina Stockade 5-3 after building an early advantage and holding off a late Salina rally. Rockland scored twice in the second inning and added single runs in the third fourth and sixth to take a 5-0 lead. Salina scored once in the eighth and twice in the ninth but could not complete the comeback. Rockland finished with nine hits and committed no errors while Salina had seven hits and two errors.

Rockland’s J. Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored. C. Regis also collected two hits, while C. Gregor, K. Krause and M. Montville each drove in a run. Montville hit a solo home run and added a run scored, and Krause tripled. Salina’s W. Salas hit a home run and drove in one run, while D. Zaher went 1-for-4 with two RBIs. S. Longo had two hits for the Stockade.

Justin Brantley earned the win for Rockland with six scoreless innings, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out eight. A. Lalonde worked two innings and allowed one earned run, and Kyle Hansen recorded the save with one-third of an inning. Salina starter Cody Strayer took the loss after allowing seven hits and four runs three earned in 4 2/3 innings while striking out four.

Rockland’s pitching held Salina without a run through the first seven innings. Salas’ eighth-inning homer put the Stockade on the board, and Salina added two more runs in the ninth on three hits, but Hansen closed out the 5-3 victory.

ROLLINS STRONG AGAIN AS MINERS SWEEP SALINA

June 21, Augusta, NJ – In an old-fashioned pitchers duel, David Rollins outdueled Daniel Diaz through seven innings, and the bullpen finished off a Sussex County Miners (23-10) 2-1 win over the touring Salina Stockade (3-9) in front of 1,487 fans at Skylands Stadium on Thursday night.

Salina opened the scoring for the second straight night in the top of the second inning as Bobby Webb drove a solo home run over the wall in left field, giving the Stockade a 1-0 lead. But that would be the only bump in the road for Rollins as, after allowing a third inning single, would retire the next fifteen Salina batters that came to the plate.

The Miners would get that run right back in the bottom of the second. Martin Figueroa would double with one out, and that would be followed by a Rubi Silva infield single, in which he hustled out the hit to set up runners on the corners. Luis Alen would then hit a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring Figueroa and leveling the score at 1-1.

June 20, Augusta, NJ – The Sussex County Miners (22-10) scored in five consecutive innings to rally back from an early 2-0 deficit to defeat the Salina Stockade (3-8) by a score of 7-3. The Miners extended their current winning streak to five games and padded their first place lead over the Quebec Capitales to three and a half games.

After a quiet first inning, two Stockade singled and advanced a base on a wild pitch to put two runners in scoring position with one out. Second basemen Scott Stetson took advantage of the situation, sending both runners home with a single of his own to give Stockade a 2-0 lead.

In the bottom of the third inning, Christian Correa was hit by a pitch and then advanced to second base on the first stolen base by a Miners catcher this season. Breland Almadova than sent his first hit of the ball game into the outfield to score Correa and cut the deficit in half to 2-1.

Martin Figueroa drove in Audy Ciriaco in the fourth inning after reaching on an error. Figueroa was picked off trying to steal second, but that did not faze the batter Rubi Silva, who continued to swing a hot stick, launching his team leading fourth home run of the season into deep right field.

Sussex County tacked on runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to bring their total to seven runs and surrendered one score in the sixth inning.

Matt Blandino (1-0) won his Miners debut tossing one and two-thirds innings of one run relief while scattering three hits and striking out one. Jordan Cummings (0-1) took the loss, giving up six runs (four earned) on eight hits with a walk and three strikeouts in five and two-thirds innings of work.

The Miners will look to sweep the Stockade and extend their winning streak tomorrow night at 7:05pm at Skylands Stadium.

June 19, Augusta, NJ – The Sussex County Miners (21-10) have seen a historically torrid offense over the past ten days – that only continued on Tuesday, as the Miners saw another offensive outburst to put away the Salina Stockade (3-7) by a score of 14-1 in front of 1,202 fans at Skylands Stadium.

The game didnt remain scoreless for long, as a Mikey Reynolds walk and a Martin Figueroa single made way for Rubi Silva – who entered the day batting an even .500 – to deposit a Mason Mayberry fastball well over the right center field wall.

Silva wasnt done, however; after Figueroa singled home another run, Silva ripped a double down the right field line with the bases loaded to score another two. A Luis Alen single and a sacrifice fly from Breland Almadova tacked another pair, giving Sussex County an 8-0 lead after three.

In the fourth, Jarred Mederos continued the onslaught by scoring on a wild pitch, which was followed by a Figueroa RBI groundout.

Après 2 matchs à offrir une certaine opposition aux Capitales, le Stockade de Salina a finalement eu le dessus dimanche après-midi dans un match de 4-2 au Stade Canac.

«Je ne sais pas comment lexpliquer. On aurait espéré voir une explosion offensive. Cest inexcusable », a pesté le gérant Patrick Scalabrini après la rencontre.

Encore une fois, loffensive des Capitales sest faite discrète pendant que le partant Brett Lee (0-1) retrouvait ses moyens plus le match avançait. Québec a été limité à 5 coups sûrs, pour un total de 15 en 3 parties dans cette série.

Les Capitales ont mis quelques manches à se mettre en marche, mais loffensive a fini par débloquer dans une victoire de 5-1 sur le Stockade de Salina.

Déjà en avant 2-1, les Capitales ont réduit davantage lespoir des visiteurs en fin de 5e manche. Un enchainement de 3 coups sûrs amorcé par un double de Maxx Tissenbaum a ouvert la voie à une manche de 3 points. Une séquence qui répondait au seul point de la soirée produit par le Stockade quelques minutes plus tôt.

Les Capitales ont obtenu plus dopposition quils ne sen attendaient vendredi soir au Stade Canac. Québec a tout de même trouvé une brèche dans la palissade en défaisant le Stockade de Salina au compte de 2-1 sur deux longues balles!

Salina affichait un différentiel de points de -31 en 6 parties à son arrivée à Québec, mais le Stockade ne sest pas présenté au Parc Victoria en touriste.

Les deux partants, Jordan Cummings (0-2, 8 RAB) et Karl Gélinas (4-2, 4 RAB) ont tenu le fort de brillante façon durant 8 manches. Chez les Capitales, Gélinas a laissé sa place à Donatello pour son 5e sauvetage de la saison.

Les hommes de TJ Stanton ont fait face à un Edilson Alvarez en bonne forme. Kevin McNorton earned the win for Trois-Rivieres after allowing three hits and two runs, one earned, in six innings. He walked one and struck out eight. J. Zarubin worked a scoreless seventh with one strikeout to finish the victory.

Tyler Oldham led the Aigles with two hits, including a home run, three RBIs and a walk. K. Cornelius went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs, while M. Suchy added a double and an RBI. Trois-Rivieres finished with eight hits, compared with three for Salina.

Les Aigles ont profité des largesses du lanceur David Gates dès les premiers instants du match, pour filer vers un gain facile de 13-2 face au Stockade de Salina, mardi soir.

Après avoir surpris les Champions à Ottawa lors de leur premier match face aux équipes de la Ligue Can-Am, le Stockade est vite revenu sur terre en subissant deux cuisants revers consécutifs. Les choses ne se sont guère améliorées contre les Aigles, qui ont malmené Gates dès la manche initiale.

Le partant a accordé quatre coups sûrs et deux passes gratuites aux Oiseaux lors de leur premier tour au bâton et ce fut rapidement 7-0 pour les locaux.

Chris Murphy a quant a lui été très solide au monticule. En six manches sur la bute du Stade Stereo+, le droitier na pas donné de points au Stockade en plus de faire six victimes au bâton.

OTTAWA – Two runs in the bottom of the third sealed the Ottawa Champions first series victory of the 2018 season, after they downed the Salina Stockade 7-1 Sunday afternoon to wrap their series.

The win gives Ottawa their first series win of the 2018 campaign. Champions manager Hal Lanier says it doesnt matter who youre playing – winning a series is a big step in the right direction.

"We kept on swinging the bats well today," he said after the game. "But I was impressed with Rutckyjs start – getting four innings out of him was big for us."

In four innings pitched, LHP Evan Rutckyj fanned six batters and allowed just one hit. While he didnt pitch long enough to get the win, its earned the Canadian a spot in the rotation. RHP Jake Hale (W, 3-2) pitched six innings in relief to earn the win.

The games first run scored on a wild pitch. Salina LHP Daniel Diaz (L, 0-1) dealt a pitch too high for his catcher to handle, allowing OF Chase Harris to score from third base. He had previously advanced to second on a separate wild pitch from Diaz.

OTTAWA – Four unearned runs in the fourth inning ended up costing the Ottawa Champions, as the Salina Stockade beat them 8-6 on Friday evening at RCGT Park. Ottawa rallied with five runs of their own in the fifth, but could not catch up to the showcase team in their first game of the season. "We hit the ball well tonight, we just couldnt catch the ball," said manager Hal Lanier following the defeat.

RHP Edilson Alvarez was a workhorse for the Stockade, going seven innings and throwing 114 pitches in a winning effort.

Salina got off to a good start to their season, as they found themselves up 7-1 on Ottawa after only four innings. RHP Noah Gapp was charged with three runs over three frames and RHP Andrew Cooper came in to replace him.

Champions fielders committed three errors in the fourth inning and the Stockade made them pay by plating four runners.

The Champions bullpen has looked good in recent days. Cooper gave up a run in the sixth inning, which served as the first conceded by the pen in four games.

The Salina Stockade have released their 2018 rosters. The Stockade will begin their season as one of two International Teams in the CanAm League on June 8 against the Ottawa Champions. All players on these teams are players that are actively in the Pecos League and will come off of rosters from the Pecos League.

The Rosters will be split as one roster of position players will play in the games in Canada in Quebec City, Trois-Rivieres and Ottawa. The 2nd group of position players will play in the games against Rockland, New Jersey and Sussex. this will minimize time away from their Pecos League Teams will giving more players exposure to play in CanAm League. Tj Zarewicz and Edison Alvarez will manage the team while in Canada. David Peterson and Cip Garza will manage the team while in the US.

March 22 2018 The Salina Stockade defeated the Coastal Kingfish 6-1, scoring in three separate innings to secure the victory. Salina collected five hits and took advantage of two Coastal errors, while the Kingfish finished with seven hits and one error.

Salina broke through with three runs in the second inning. Daniel Williams singled and scored, Eddie Grimaldo doubled and scored, and Christian Carmouce added an RBI single. The Stockade extended the lead with two unearned runs in the fourth after Grimaldo reached on errors and scored before Carmouce crossed the plate. Salina added its final run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by JW Moore.

Williams scored twice and finished 1-for-3 with a walk, while Grimaldo went 1-for-3 with two runs and a walk. Carmouce was 1-for-1 with a run and RBI, and Moore drove in two runs. Coastal’s Rex Jackson went 2-for-4 with a run, and Abel Arocho collected two hits in four at-bats.

Jack Finnegan earned the win after allowing two hits and one run over two innings with three strikeouts. Chris Bachman followed with five scoreless innings, giving up five hits while striking out eight. David Williams scored Stockade’s lone run. J. Ibrahim, Justin Kotesis, J. Moore and C. Bachman each recorded one hit, with Moore collecting a double. Stockade also drew one walk and struck out six times as a team.

Garden of Gears’ J. Webb led the offense with two hits, including a double, and a walk. Stockade kept the Gears scoreless throughout the game, with Justin Kotesis earning the win and Vincent Lujan taking the loss. The box score lists no save pitcher or individual pitching statistics.

March 15 2018 The Salina Stockade rallied past the Topeka Train Robbers 13-10 in a game decided by big scoring innings. Topeka finished with 10 runs on seven hits and two errors while Salina collected 13 runs on eight hits and committed one error.

The Train Robbers broke a scoreless tie with four runs in the third inning and added four more in the fourth before scoring twice in the fifth. Salina answered with nine runs in the fourth and four in the fifth, turning a four-run deficit into a 13-10 lead. The Stockade held Topeka scoreless over the final two innings.

J. Ibrahim led Salina with three RBI while D. Williams drove in four runs and scored twice. J. Kotesis and J. Moore each had a hit and scored twice, and E. Grimaldo contributed a hit, an RBI and a run. For Topeka, I. Spencer had two hits and two RBI, while M. Lujan added a hit and two RBI. M. Howard reached base four times with one hit and scored three runs.

The Wichita Wingnuts continued to round out their position player corps on Friday, announcing the signing of young infielder Logan Trowbridge.

Trowbridge spent 71 games in the American Association last season with the Salina Stockade, hitting .224 with nine doubles, three triples, and one home run. The 24-year old showcased his incredible versatility by playing at least one game at every position except pitcher, though he spent much of the season as the Stockades shortstop. Trowbridge began the 2017 season with the Tucson Saguaros of the Pecos League, where he played just five games before being snapped up by Salina.

The Santa Cruz, Calif., native made his professional debut in 2016 with the Pecos Leagues Great Bend Boom, hitting .359 with five home runs and 45 RBI in only 58 games. Trowbridge also stole 29 bases in 34 tries, while recording more walks (36) than strikeouts (31).

Trowbridge, a right-handed hitter, kicked off his collegiate career with two seasons at the junior college level with the College of San Mateo. After hitting a combined .245 over the course of those two seasons, Trowbridge transferred to Cal State Bakersfield as a junior. He established himself as the Roadrunners starting catcher, gunning down 16 of 29 attempted base-stealers as a senior, while hitting .220 in 257 collegiate at-bats. For his career at Bakersfield, Trowbridge recorded eight doubles, four triples, and one home run.

Trowbridges signing brings the number of Wingnuts players under contract for the 2018 season up to 15. American Association clubs may carry up to 28 players during spring training, which opens on May 6.

March 7 2018 The Salina Stockade defeated the Hollywood Stars 6-3 after scoring five runs in the fifth inning to take the lead in a seven-inning game. Salina finished with six hits and no errors while Hollywood collected four hits and committed two errors.

Salina scored once in the second inning before Hollywood moved ahead with two runs in the third. The Stockade’s decisive fifth-inning rally included a grand slam by Jason Ibrahim, who finished 1-for-2 with four RBI and one run scored. Daniel Williams went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, while Jon Collins added an RBI. Salina also received two hits and a run from Justin Kotesis and a hit and two walks from Logan Clifton.

Hollywood pulled within three runs in the sixth when Peter Pena scored after Aaron Bailey tripled. Pena went 1-for-3 with two runs scored, and Bailey went 1-for-2 with a triple and an RBI. Timothy Carter also had a hit for the Stars.

Clifton earned the win after allowing two runs on two hits in four innings while striking out seven and walking two. Williams worked three innings in relief, giving up one run on two hits with two strikeouts and two walks. Hollywood starter Johnny Ramirez took the loss, allowing six runs on five hits in five innings with seven walks and three strikeouts. Relly Mercurio held Salina scoreless over the final two innings.

March 6 2018 The Salina Stockade defeated the Topeka Train Robbers 13-10 in a seven-inning game. Salina collected 15 hits and overcame three Topeka errors, while the Train Robbers finished with three hits and committed three errors.

Salina built a 5-1 lead through four innings before Topeka erupted for seven runs in the fifth. The Stockade answered with five runs in the bottom half to take a 10-8 lead, then added three more runs in the sixth. Topeka scored twice in the sixth but could not complete the comeback.

J. Collins led Salina by going 3-for-4 with three runs, while J. Kotesis also had three hits. L. Clifton went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and A. Marshall drove in two runs. S. Stetson scored three times and reached base four times, and E. Grimaldo delivered an RBI. C. Fenner provided Topeka"s lone home run and finished 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs.

Salina"s David Peterson was credited with the win, and Topeka"s Clayton Farris took the loss. The Stockade also recorded a double from M. Howard and finished with five sacrifice flies, while Topeka drew 14 walks as a team.

For the third year in a row the Sal

For the third year in a row the Salina Stockade will serve as a travel team operated by the Pecos League. The Magical Run for the Stockade continues as the Stockade will face its toughest opponents ever. Also for the third year the Stockade will join a new league. After playing in the Pecos League in 2016 and the American Association in 2017 the Stockade will play in the CanAm League in 2018. The Salina Stockade will serve as the Can-Am Leagues 2nd International Team.

The CanAm League consists of six teams in the New York City Metro Area, Quebec and Ottawa. The Stockade will play each team a three game series beginning on June 8. At the end of the season the players that played for the Stockade will be placed in a dispursal draft available to be drafted and signed by the six Can Am League Teams to finish the season.

The Stockades Website will remain http://www.SalinaStockade.com. The teams colors will remain Navy, Royal and Silver and they will wear grey pants in all of their games. The Stockade will play in the following schedule

The Can-Am League operates in cities not directly served by Major or Minor League teams and is not affiliated with either. The league office is in Durham, North Carolina. Though a separate entity, the league shares a commissioner, president, and director of umpires with the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball.
